It is a complementary service that we offer with the aim of reconciling work and family life. We don’t see it as a mere space to feed/eat, but as an ideal environment for students to develop habits and values such as responsibility and coexistence.
Recently, at Platero Green School we have decided to hire the services of the company Serunión, Spanish market leader in catering and working for 1910 schools worldwide. Through this company, Platero Green School remains an in situ center - complete production of the meals in our facilities, in constant renewal- and keeps on offering a varied daily menu made with the best ingredients.
In our Canteen Service the following aspects are very important:
- Meet the requirements of quality and food safety.
- Give attention to diversity (specific diets).
- Apply the "5 a day" program (consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables with the annual plan of fruit and salads wheel).
- Perform an educational project in the psychomotor, cognitive and affective areas with activities such as “The restaurant table” or a noise workshop.
In addition, throughout the school year, we celebrate two international, two thematic and one regional gastronomic event.
With this we want that the Dining Room doesn’t only provide appropriate food but it also complements the work of the school, bringing an added value in education.
Menu and tracking App
Serunión offers this tool (app for phones and tablets) to families whose children use the Canteen Service. Thanks to this, it is quick and easily accessible allowing parents to check the daily menu and to track the canteen staff assessment about the behaviour of the students during the service.
